Denim washing processes start with desizing to remove sizing agents from denim fabrics. After desizing, water is fed into the machine for rinsing. Pumice stones are then added for stone  washing, followed by another round of water rinsing. This workflow involves two separate rinsing stages, which drives up water consumption. Furthermore, the conventional process requires sequential steps including desizing and draining, stone abrasion with pumice stones, and re-draining. The numerous separate procedures make the operation cumbersome.

A novel process has been developed to simplify the denim washing procedure.The granular neutral cellulase achieve desizing and abrasion in one step during the processes of denim washing. Intermediate draining procedures are reduced, greatly simplifying the denim washing process.BBT ENYZME NEF®GP3, a granular neutral cellulase developed and manufactured by Baico Biotech, can achieve this goal NEF®GP3 is a powdered product and requires storage at temperatures below 27°C.After loading the garment, raise the water temperature to 55°C.It realizes the one-bath desizing and abrasion technology with the temperature 55for 40 minutes.NEF® GP3 can replace pumice stones. No pumice is needed during its application process. It creates light shade contrast, better retains the original base shade of denim, and endows fabrics with an extra soft hand feel.

The conventional desizing process requires a 10-minute reaction at 60°C. In contrast, the enzymatic washing process enables one-bath one-step treatment, which eliminates the separate desizing stage and significantly lowers the processing temperature. Enzymatic washing features simpler operation and higher washing efficiency. Thanks to its one-bath design, it cuts down rinsing cycles, shortens processing time and reduces water consumption.
