RF838-K is a bio-scouring enzyme developed by BBT specifically for the pre-treatment of knitted cotton fabrics before dyeing. At the initial stage of the pre-treatment process, the alkaline pectinase in RF838-K first acts at 55°C for 30 minutes, selectively degrading pectin in cotton fibers and disrupting the binding structure between natural impurities and the fibers.
The process temperature is then increased to 98°C for a further 30 minutes. As the pectin has already been sufficiently degraded, the wetting agent and scouring agent in the product can more effectively promote the removal of wax, oils, and other impurities, allowing the fabric to achieve excellent cleanliness and absorbency.
For knitted fabrics requiring medium or dark shades, the above steps are sufficient before proceeding to the polishing and dyeing process. This process reduces bleaching and neutralization steps, while also reducing the number of rinsing cycles. For knitted fabrics requiring light shades, bleaching, neutralization, and other subsequent processes are still required. It is worth mentioning that after treatment with the bio-scouring enzyme RF838-K, the fabric has excellent cleanliness, allowing the consumption of chemicals such as caustic soda and hydrogen peroxide required to be reduced. Thebleaching time is also shortened accordingly, and one rinsing cycle is eliminated.
By optimizing the scouring process, RF838-K helps improve the uniformity of subsequent bleaching and dyeing while reducing fiber damage. The bio-scouring product RF838-K provids a green and efficient pre-treatment solution for knitted fabric dyeing mills.
