During the pre-treatment process of knitted cotton fabrics, cotton fiber strength is an important indicator of fabric quality. Conventional chemical scouring usually uses high concentrations of caustic soda and high temperatures. Although this process can remove natural impurities such as pectin, waxes, and oils from cotton fibers, it may also cause certain degradation of cellulose and damage to the fiber surface. As a result, fabric strength and abrasion resistance may decrease, affecting the life time of the final product.
RF838-K bio-scouring enzyme developed by BBT is a high-performance compound enzyme. And alkaline pectinase is the core component. Depend on the specific catalytic action of enzymes, RF838-K can selectively decompose natural impurities such as pectin in cotton fibers, while having almost no effect on the main component of cotton fibers, cellulose. Therefore, while effectively removing natural impurities and improving scouring performance, RF838-K can maintain a more complete fiber structure.
After treatment with RF838-K, fabrics can maintain higher cotton fiber strength and a soft hand feel. They also show good absorbency and cleanliness. Compared with conventional chemical scouring processes, RF838-K reduces chemical consumption and energy usage while achieving a balance between scouringperformance and fiber protection. It provides a more efficient and sustainable solution for knitting dyeing mills.
