During weaving, warp yarns are subjected to significant tension and friction, making them prone to breakage. To address this, warp yarns are sized prior to weaving to enhance their toughness and abrasion resistance. However, after weaving, the sizing agents adhered to the yarn surface hinder the binding between fibers and dyes, adversely affecting dyeing results. Therefore, one of the key criteria for sizing agent selection is ease of removal. Currently, the most commonly used sizing agents include starch slurry and PVA.

Amylase can specifically catalyze the hydrolysis of starch slurry, decomposing them into water-soluble low-molecular-weight saccharides. Since amylase does not react with cellulose itself, it enables thorough removal of sizing agents without compromising fiber strength or fabric hand feel.

Baico biotech (BBT) is textile enzyme and household detergent enzyme manufacturer in China. BBT has launched the amylase product JFA16, which effectively decomposes and removes starch slurry under the conditions of wide temperature and wide pH range. In conventional processes, JFA16 is typically used at temperatures above 70°C to achieve optimal desizing performance.

To further promote green manufacturing, BBT has developed the composite Bio-scouring enzyme RF838-W. This product contains both amylase and pectinase and a variety of hydrolytic complex enzyme, enabling synergistic desizing and scouring treatment. At 55°C for 30 minutes, RF838-W achieves a tegawa rating comparable to that of JFA16 at 70°C. Moreover, after desizing, the bath can be directly heated to 95°C for bleaching without the need for draining, resulting in a streamlined and efficient process flow.

To maximize amylase activity and enhance desizing performance, could the operating temperature of RF838-W be raised to 70°C? The answer is no. This is because the Bio-scouring enzyme contains the amylaseand other enzymes, which can be worked under the temperature 70.

To ensure RF838-W achieves satisfactory desizing performance at 55°C, BBT optimized the product formulation, ultimately attaining the desired desizing cleanliness even under low-temperature conditions—striking a balance between process efficiency and environmental sustainability.

Through precise formulation design, BBT's composite Bio-scouring enzyme RF838-W achieves efficient synergistic desizing and scouring under mild 55°C conditions, offering the textile industry a reliable solution that delivers both quality enhancement and green production.BBT ENZYMES are a biological solutions.Developed to enhance the dyeing effect of fabrics.
