When processing cotton and linen fabrics by conventional technology, bio- polishing and dyeing are two separate procedures. The complete process is as follows: neutralization →adjust the pH 5.5, add catalase running 10 minutes at 55 ℃ to remove the hydrogen peroxide → add cellulase for bio- polishing 50 minutes at 55℃→ adjust the neutral pH 7.5 condition, add dyestuff and other dyeing auxiliaries start to dyeing 60 minutes. This process involves cumbersome working steps. Operators are required to perform repeated operations across multiple machines, resulting in long production workflows and numerous manual-handling steps.

Baico Biotech is textile enzyme and household detergent enzyme manufacturer in China. Baico Biotech has developed NEF®2100, Textile Enzyme Coated Granule neutral cellulase adopting innovative coating technology. It features high concentration and good stability in room temperature storage and enables one-bath processing of bio-polishing and dyeing. Its one- bath process flow is as follows: neutralization →adjust the pH 6.5, add BBT textile enzyme catalase CATANA®CA300G and BBT textile enzyme neutral cellulase NEF®2100 running 10 minutes at 55 ℃ → add dyestuff and other dyeing auxiliaries start to dyeing 60 minutes, achieve the bio-polishing and dyeing in one bath. → check the bio-polishing effect. By comparing the two processes, it can be seen that BBT Enzyme NEF®2100 eliminates intermediate steps including draining, neutralization & enzyme deactivation, water refilling and dye-bath re-preparation, which greatly simplifies production operations.

Fewer heating-up cycles simplify equipment operation. Under the separate-bath bio-polishing and dyeing process, two independent heating cycles are required: heat up firstly to finish bio- polishing, and re-heat for dyeing after multiple washing steps. For the NEF®2100 one-bath bio-polishing and dyeing process, raise the bath temperature to 30-60 °C and add BBT textile enzyme coated granular neutral cellulaseNEF®2100. After 10-minute bio-polishing treatment on cotton fabrics, charge dyes directly and carry out insulated dyeing for 60 minutes.

No intermediate draining or bath change is needed throughout the whole treatment. Both processes can be accomplished with one single temperature profile. Cumbersome repeated heating- cooling operations are eliminated, making dye-machine programming much easier.

All in all, neutral cellulase NEF®2100 breaks the lengthy and cumbersome production mode of conventional separate-bath processes by integrating two procedures within a single dye bath. It not only cuts heating- cooling cycles of equipment and reduces feeding frequency, but also removes multiple intermediate washing and bath- changing steps. The solution effectively lowers on-site operation difficulty and labor input, helping printing and dyeing enterprises achieve production goals of quality improvement, efficiency gain and cost reduction.
