Lint shedding during the production and use of white towels not only affects product appearance but also reduces the user experience. Many factors can contribute to lint shedding, including raw cotton quality, yarn quality, weaving process, and pre-treatment process. Among them, insufficient pre-treatment may result in incomplete removal of sizing agents, natural impurities, and surface fuzz, leaving more loose fibers on the fabric surface and increasing the risk of lint shedding during subsequent processing and use.

White towels require high whiteness and good absorbency. Therefore, conventional processes usually use large amounts of caustic soda and other chemicals for desizing and bleaching. However, prolonged treatment under high-temperature and strong alkaline conditions can damage the cotton fiber structure. As a result, fine fibers that were originally firmly attached become loose, making the fabric surface more prone to pilling and lint shedding while producing a rougher hand feel.

Bio-desizing and bio-scouring utilize the specific catalytic action of enzymes to complete the pre-treatment process under relatively mild conditions. While ensuring the treatment performance, they also help reduce damage to cotton fibers. Based on this concept, BBT hasintroduced a biological solution. Mills can use amylase at 70°C for 30 minutes to carry out the desizing process. The amylase rapidly degrades the starch-based sizing agents on the fabric. After desizing, there is no need to drain the bath. The temperature can be directly lowered to 55°C, and RF838-K(D) is then added to continue the bio-scouring and bio-polishing process. The alkaline pectinase in RF838-K(D) efficiently degrades pectin in cotton fibers, while the wetting agent and scouring agent promote the removal of wax and other natural impurities, giving the fabric excellent wettability and water absorbency. Meanwhile, the neutral cellulase specifically acts on protruding surface fuzz, selectively removing loose fibers from the fabric surface to make the towel smoother and softer while minimizing damage to the main fiber structure. The bath is then drained, and the conventional bleaching, peroxide removal, and dyeing processes are carried out. Since RF838-K(D) has a bio-polishing function, no additional bio-polishing treatment is required afterward.

Through effective bio-desizing, bio-scouring, and bio-polishing, RF838-K(D) helps improve the surface quality of towels and reduce the amount of loose fibers remaining on the fabric, thereby helping reduce the risk of lint shedding during subsequent processing and use. At the same time, the product also improves the water absorbency and soft hand feel of towels, providing more stable pre-treatment performance for white towels, hotel towels, bath towels, and similar products.
