Denim jeans seen in daily life need to be colored with dyestuffs. Indigo has become the dominant dyestuff for denim dyeing due to its level dyeing effect and outstanding color fastness. As an organic dyestuff, indigo was initially extracted from natural plants and is now mostly manufactured through artificial synthesis. During the dyeing process, indigo dissolves in water under the effect of reducing agents. The dye molecules gradually penetrate into the interior of cotton fibers, and are then converted into water-insoluble substances via oxidation reaction, firmly fixed onto the fibers of denim fabric.
During the denim finishing process, various chemical auxiliaries added and mechanical friction both act on cotton fibers, stripping the indigo dyestuff embedded inside the fibers. If corresponding anti back staining agents are not applied, free indigo molecules will migrate back to the fabric surface, resulting inuneven color streaks on the cloth and ultimately degrading the quality of finished denim products.

In order to improve the appearance quality of denim, the industry ha been continuously developing washing auxiliaries with low anti back staining. Two types of high-concentration coated granular neutral cellulases,BBT ENZYME NEF®2200+ and NEF®GP3,developed by BBT. Their working temperature ranges from 30℃ to 50℃.They deliver anti back staining performance and combine in textiles. Compared with conventional enzyme, they have a low degree of indigo back staining and good anti back staining performance.Because they are are electrically neutral and have extremely low affinity for indigo dyes.It can prevent stripped indigo from migrating back to the fabric surface and effectively eliminate uneven color and mottling on finished garments.
To further enhance the anti-back-staining effect, anti-back-staining agent NP2 and NP13 can be added assupporting agents at a recommended dosage of 0.1%– 0.3%O.W.F.Applicable process conditions: pH 6.0-7.5, temperature 30℃-50℃.
The above products feature good stability, ensuring consistent quality among fabrics of different varieties. This integrated denim finishing process requires no additional chemical reagents, making it a cost-saving and eco-friendly solution.
