Jeans are a hugely popular apparel item worldwide, manufactured from denim fabric. A simple cut of denim alone cannot produce well-finished jeans; they must undergo denim washing treatment. Conventional washing processes rely on pumice stones and high temperature to treat denim. Amid rising global demand for environmental protection, enzymatic washing has emerged as an eco-friendly alternative process.
Enzymatic denim washing uses enzymes to decompose cellulose in denim: it breaks down raised surface fibers and partial inner yarns, stripping surface cellulose and indigo dye to deliver soft, comfortable hand feel, subtle luster and faded vintage effects.
Desizing is the first step of denim washing. In textile denim processing, BBT ENZYME liquid desizing AlCHEMY®A16L can be applied together with anti-back-staining agent NP13. The mixture reacts at 60°C for 10 minutes to remove starch slurry on fabric surface, laying a solid foundation for subsequent dyeing.The denim workflow does not end here: powdered neutral cellulase NEF ®2200 + is then added for bio-stone washing at 55°C with a 40-minutes reaction time, alongside anti-back-staining agent NP13 to optimize the aesthetic outcome. BBT ENZYME neutral cellulase NEF ®2200 + is a dark shade tone abrasion enzyme for denim waashing ,it can give the high contrast and good antiback staining effect for the jeans. Neutral cellulase replaces pumice stones and creates prominent snowflake fading patterns for premium visual effects. After stone washing, LACASE 597 is introduced to conduct bleaching at 35°C over 30 minutes.
