In textile dyeing and finishing, scouring is a critical pre-treatment process prior to dyeing. Natural fibers such as cotton inherently contain impurities including pectin, waxes, and cotton seed husks. These impurities adversely affect the fabric's absorbency and permeability, leading to issues such as uneven coloration and poor color fastness in subsequent dyeing and printing processes. The scouring process, through synergistic chemical and physical actions, effectively removes these impurities, rendering the cotton fibers pure and smooth. This lays a solid foundation for subsequent dyeing and finishing operations, ensuring that the fabric can be dyed in bright, uniform shades.
During weaving, warp yarns are subjected to significant tension and friction, making them prone to breakage. To reduce warp breaks, improve weaving efficiency, and enhance fabric quality, warp yarns are sized prior to weaving. This process causes the fibers toadhere and bond together, forming a dense film on the yarn surface that increases yarn compactness and toughness. However, the slurry remaining on the fabric contaminate the dyeing and finishing baths and hinder the chemical interaction between fibers and dyes, making subsequent processing difficult. To achieve the desired dyeing results, the fabric must undergo both desizing and scouring treatments.
Conventional scouring processes predominantly employ caustic soda and chemical scouring agents under high-temperature (above 70 °C) and strong alkaline conditions to remove natural impurities and slurry from the fibers. This approach requires substantial steam consumption for heating, and the high-temperature treated fabric demands repeated rinsing, resulting in extremely high energy consumption. The combination of high temperature and strong alkalinity also increases the risk of fiber damage. Moreover, the discharge of high-COD wastewater significantly raises the cost of sewage treatment for manufacturers.
Baico biotech (BBT) is textile enzyme and household detergent enzyme manufacturer in China.BBThas developed the composite Bio-scouring enzyme RF838-W. This product efficiently decomposes pectin and achieves desizing through enzymatic specificity at 55 °C. Following the treatment, the bath can be directly heated to 95 °C for bleaching without the need for draining, resulting in a streamlined process flow. Thanks to BBT's proprietary formulation, the amylase component in RF838-W performs effectively at 55 °C, attaining the desired tegawa rating. Compared to conventional processes, the Bio-scouring enzyme solution significantly reduces energy consumption and lowers wastewater COD levels, thereby cutting wastewater treatment costs. Most importantly, fabrics treated with the Bio-scouring enzyme exhibit superior fiber condition, yielding deeper color yields and better levelness in subsequent dyeing, with notably enhanced dyeing quality.
In conclusion, BBT ENZYMES are a biological solutions.Developed to enhance the dyeing effect of fabrics.the introduction of BBT's composite Bio-scouring enzyme RF838-W offers an innovative solution for conventional pre-treatment that delivers bothenvironmental benefits and quality improvements. While achieving significant cost reduction and emission savings, it enhances fabric quality from the source, establishing an excellent foundation for downstream dyeing and printing processes. It represents a reliable choice for realizing green manufacturing and high-quality production.
